taman tasik shah alam

well today i went to taman tasik shah alam... to do some project paper work... the lake was so beautiful n catching my eyes... i like the design of the lake... superb... :) hehehe.. the special about this lake is its designed has its own meaning... its a 5km path way and it takes about 3 hours to complete the 5km of walking

The Shah Alam Lake Garden is 127 acres in area, with 45 acres water body. 25 years after it opens, it remains to be crowded, especially during the weekends.

Besides the wet world, a small water theme park, and an aquarium, the parks have no other attractions buts till weekend crowds sustained. What is then the main draw of the Shah Alam Lake Garden?

TASIK SHAH ALAM 2010 attempts to shed light on the recipes for a successful park, probably in the Malaysian context, by tracing back the history in making the Shah Alam Lake Garden thru the perspectives of its decision makers, its planner and designers.

Is the case of the Shah Alam garden true for other parks in Malaysia; what attracts public to the Taiping Lake Garden, the Kuala Lumpur Lake Garden, and Johor Bharu Forest Park.

We hope by understanding the history of parks, we could justify the trend of parks use over time. The evolution of parks seems to correlate with social changes and needs, besides the current buzz on ecological parks and green networks that has chattered a new direction for parks and urban parks system.

As the city population begins to recognize the value of parks and understand how parks increase their property values, parks maintenance has become more and more critical. The demands for a well kept park translate to a more public funding to clean and upkeep parks facilities. As the budget for parks dwindles in the past three (3) years, a more sustainable approach to maintenance is imperative. The symposium will explore the potential of applying a sustainable maintenance regime as stipulated by Professor Galen Cranz in her fifth model for urban parks.
